John Scott

John Scott was elected to the Board of Trustees in October 2018, representing Wards 1, 11, 12 and 14. For the past nine years, John has held various roles within secondary school and elementary School Councils and Home & School Associations, including President and Chair. For the last three years, he has also served as an Area Chair for the Council of Home and School Associations, liaising with 15 DSB schools. John has been an active member of the Ontario Federation of Home and School Associations (OFHSA) for ten years. John was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. He attended District Collegiate Institute and later Western University, graduating with an Master of Arts in Economic History. Years later, John returned and completed his MBA at Ivey Business School.

John has started and and sold two businesses, and currently owns an organic juice company. He and his late wife, Sandy Scott, have three grown children, all graduates of St. George’s Public School and Central Secondary School.
